I was introduced to yoga by watching Erich Schiffmann’s ‘Yoga, Mind and Body’ video. It was love at first practice. Over time I was drawn to explore further yoga philosophy leading to yoga teacher training with Mugs McConnell at SOYA. Teaching since 2003, I have continued my yoga education in certification with Erich Schiffmann, and a variety of courses including Restorative Yoga, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga, and Partner Yoga. My main influences are the teachings of Erich Schiffmann, Mugs McConnell, and Yogarupa Rod Stryker. I serve as a Lead Trainer with SOYA (South Okanagan Yoga Academy).
In addition, I am a working certified Health Information Management Professional, and enjoy time at home in the mountain with my husband, reading, hiking and snowshoeing.
I believe that yoga is a transformative and life-long practice. I am committed to creating a supportive space for students to explore self-awareness, self-acceptance, and inner presence through breath, movement, and stillness. I teach Hatha yoga from dynamic to restorative with playful encouragement.
